Crime

Mission

The NABB Crime Committee is committed to preventing crime in the Back Bay by promoting personal safety and a crime-free neighborhood. The committee will serve as a liaison for information between law enforcement and the Back Bay community and build a network to disseminate information concerning current criminal activity and specific actions the community and individuals can take to avoid becoming victims of a crime.

Activities

The committee disseminates information such as: crime prevention (City of Boston crime prevention support), and reporting tips, crime trends, including special occurrences or areas of concern, and educational opportunities related to crime prevention.

In working with law enforcement, we communicate areas of community concern and priorities concerning criminal activity, and try to influence resource allocation to respond to these concerns.

Meetings

The Police Panel meets at the Boston Public Library (McKim Building) at 6:00 pm on the last Wednesday of every month. The Crime Committee meets at 7:00 pm in the same place. All are welcome to attend and provide input into crime-related issues in the Back Bay.
